Justin Michael Lee: Texas Revokes His Pediatric-Anesthesiology License Over Child-Porn Ring

The Texas Medical Board has revoked the license of a pediatric anesthesiologist who pleaded guilty to involvement in an online child porn file-sharing site.

Justin Michael Lee, who had been practicing most recently in Phoenix, pleaded guilty to "transporting child pornography" in 2010, after federal and international investigators shut down the "Lost Boy" child porn ring, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Central District of California. The charge carries a mandatory minimum five-year sentence.

Lee, 33, "entered into an agreed order of revocation" with the Texas Medical Board earlier this month, according to a Board press release. The revocation order states that Lee had been indicted in California in June 2010 after prosecutors accused him of being involved in the Lost Boy ring from September 2007 through January 2009.

An assistant U.S. attorney general in 2010 described Lost Boy members
as using "sophisticated vetting procedures to facilitate the sexual
abuse of children and enable its users to produce and share child
pornography while also developing a handbook on how to groom potential
victims."

The "Handbook Project," according to the Los Angeles U.S. Attorney's
Office, "was a guide for adult men on how to find and groom boys into
engaging in sex, how to deal with physical aspects of sexual contact,
and how to move on to other victims when the current victim grew too old
to be attractive."

Lee's Arizona license had been temporarily suspended after his
indictment in 2009. He had been licensed to practice in Texas that same
year.
