Triangles mark affected customers
If you live between the Katy Freeway and 290 on the northwest side of town, you're probably not reading this unless you're on batteries.

Ice on the power lines has caused service to go out to more than 55,000 customers in that triangle, CenterPoint spokeswoman Alicia Dixon tells Hair Balls.

The outage began about 3 p.m. and there is no estimate for when power will return, she says.

You can track power outages on CenterPoint's map -- unless, of course, you're sitting in the dark out west and northwest -- by clicking here. The 5 p.m. version of it is shown above.

No other parts of town have been majorly affected by this cold front, according to the map.
