Larry Kaiser is headed home for good
We've been telling you for a while about the sweet deal trustees have given the head of the UT-Health Science Center, who just couldn't seem to break his ties with Pennsylvania.

Larry Kaiser regularly commuted back north on UT's dime (racking up well over six figures) and the school also paid for a $2,500-a-month condo. Kaiser said he couldn't find anyone to buy his house back home, the house his family continued to live in.

In August, after two years, UT cut off the gravy train. And now, the Houston Chronicle reports, Kaiser is taking his ball and going home.

He told UT today he will become the head of Temple University Health Systems in Philadelphia, his hometown.

"Being president of an institution of this caliber and potential has been the greatest professional experience of my life," Kaiser told the Chron. "Making this decision has required extremely difficult deliberations on my part, but personal and family considerations overwhelmingly influenced my decision."

And not getting that sweet commuting deal, too, we bet.
