Fake ICE cops: Just another hassle for the alien smuggler
Elicio Moctezuma-Cisneros was sentenced today to 46 months in federal prison for smuggling aliens, kidnapping, returning to the U.S. after he'd been deported, all kinds of things.

If it seems a crowded career, you haven't heard the oddest part: His shootout with a couple of guys dressed up as federal agents, who were trying to steal his load of aliens.

Moctezuma-Cisneros had been stashing his human horde in a house in the 200 block of Vashti Drive on the north side of town.

He was trying to keep a low profile, naturally enough, but didn't succeed.

According to the U.S. Attorney's office:

Moctezuma-Cisneros, along with Juan Santiago Hernandez, 19, were guarding approximately 80-90 undocumented aliens at the Vashti stash house until smuggling fees were paid by their relatives/friends to the alien smugglers. The undocumented aliens would be released upon payment of the fees to the smugglers.

On March 29, 2010, the Vashti Drive alien stash house was raided by Kenneth Barahona, 18, of Honduras and an unknown suspect dressed in law enforcement gear -- ICE and POLICE shirts with the intention of stealing the "load" of smuggled aliens. Moctezuma-Cisneros and Kenneth Barahona exchanged gunfire and both suffered gunshot wounds and have since recovered.

But, you know, neighbors will complain about that kind of thing. An investigation revealed the operation and resulted in the charges and the jail time.
