• Putting all other issues aside, based on the facts, the video is sickening and further proves the deep level of corruption within the Houston Police Department. Was this an isolated incident? My guess is that there are many more like this within the department, than those who choose to conduct themselves professionally. Wanna know what happens to playground bullies? • Whats new with black people. It was music to my eyes. I've been assaulted by blacks and have seen what a large amount of scum they are. I salute those officers.

• What you say is mostly true, but I think the real problem is lost on you--many cops UNLAWFULLY abuse the INNOCENT too. I've witnessed it. I PRAY that it does not happen to you or your loved ones.

• I'm from Peoria, IL. We're known as a typical midwest city. I worked part time at Brown's Sports and this cop would drive up in a squad car to shop. He was usually at least partially intoxicated. One time he was laughing and bragging about jacking someone up that night. He said after he put the cuffs on he lifted the smaller guy up by the belt and cuffs and swung him like a battering ram head first into the brick wall. This cop was black. I think it's institutional. Both black&white cops do it.

• What people don't realize is they could have shoved a broomstick or screwdriver up his rectum, or even shot him! Shouldn't these law enforcement officers be commended for their restraint in this case?

• Come on Francine, "Grace of God" has nothing to do with this. The Bible is also clear that God appointed men to establish government to rule the men. This kid was convicted for a crime. If this were my son my focus would not be on what the cops did. Especially if he wasn't critically hurt. The cops did, in a tougher way, the job I should have done a long time ago.

This kid is a turd and hopefully he will learn a lesson from this. Why can't all people realize this young man broke the law? They weren't beating him because he was black. He broke the law and then ran from the police not giving up or showing signs of remorse. That is why he was beaten, for 9 seconds. Is it right? No. Still, it isn't racial. He broke the law. He was convicted. This will burn most of you. Those police officers will not lose their jobs. They will get a slap on the wrist that is a suspension and be back on the streets. Not my call, not my opinion that it is right, just the way it is.

• While I dont really feel that sorry for a thief. The problem I have with cops acting as judge, jury and executioner is two fold. First, its against the law. They are commiting a violent crime when they beat this kid. Second, you just know that the cops will be writing lies in their police reports about the incident. So now the cops are committing violent crimes and submitting lies to a court of law. People go to jail on the words of cops and its hard to trust cops that write lies in their police reports.

• sorry not from your wonderful town, but do know it is not about race! my brother a wonderful young white man with a family was shot to death by the swat team in the hallway of his apt. building,after having been trapped in apt by cops (tried to kill himself) worked rope enough to use pocket knife to cut his way out hands in the air holding a pocket knife was shot at close range 11 times with auto weapons they walked away he dident! my point is it this was any one else doing this to a young man for any reason they would be in jail not getting fired. come on people the police want the tape because they want no record of this that way they walk scot free!!!

• Ah, apparently one of them, Andrew Blomberg, claims he was not kicking and only pulling the arms behind the back to be handcuffed. Kind of hard to tell from the resolution on the video if that's true.

• I see 5 officers that should be brought up on charges and 1 who should have been commended, or at least excused from discipline if he didn't do anything else bad related to this. The tally was 4 charged, 7 (including the 4) fired, and 12 disciplined. I'm guessing the extra terminations and disciplines were for covering up after the beating. I want to know how one of the officers escaped prosecution, though.

• That is a disgrace. All those "peace officers" beating and kicking a subdued, handcuffed kid. It is an embarrassment to the city of Houston. Those officers should be disciplined and/or fired .

• I didn't say a word about race, but why did the boys in blue need more than 5 cars and 8 officers to subdue one unarmed kid? Why was a gun pointed at his head? There was no reason to put any boots on the kid even once let alone repeatedly by many different officers. It must be that gang mentality, can't stop the violence! Remember Roland Carnaby, the white guy who claimed he was CIA, who got wasted on the Loop? Police chase. I was a news photographer, I saw other men (cough...white guys) get whupped on or shot after a police chase. When cops are driving 100 mph, risking their lives to get you, they get waayyyy jacked up, it ain't gonna be good when they catch you, no matter what beautiful skin God made you.
