Ron Paul for Senate: New Poll Says Texans Demand It

Ron Paul: Let the campaign begin!
As America faces the challenges of the 21st century, it is safe to say it needs as many Pauls in the Senate as possible. And we're not talking first names, either.

Texas, it seems, agrees.

A new poll from PPP shows Texans are demanding that Kay Bailey Hutchison's Senate seat go to Ron Paul next year, the Brazoria County congressman whose son is a (wingnut) Kentucky senator.

"A Ron Paul candidacy would instantly make this one of the most interesting Senate races in the country," PPP's Dean Debnam says. "If his son can get elected, what's to say he can't?"

Ummm....common sense amongst the Texas electorate? Nah, you're right -- what's to say he can't.

Lt. Governor David Dewhurst, who we think has finally wound up his inauguration speech, is first among GOP voters in the preference poll with 23 percent, but don't be fooled.

Paul's 21 percent is merely a sleeping tiger begging to be awakened. As soon as all of Texas learns, as Brazoria County has, about the evils of the Federal Reserve System, he's a shoo-in for the upper chamber. Unless he decides to win the Presidency, of course.

Attorney General Greg Abbott came in third in the poll, with 14 percent, and everyone else was in single digits.
