Working out that resolution....but are you hungry?
The Downtown Y was packed yesterday morning, the first workday after all those New Year's Resolutions were made.

Is it likely to be as packed on a typical February morning? We're guessing not.

But everyone starts out the year with the same "eat healthy/lose weight" goals. And the advice out there is plentiful, if confusing.

We've studied WebMD's 15 diet tips and other lists, and here are seven things we learned.

7. "Consider whether you're really hungry"
Amazing thing we learned from this tip: There is a doctor who wrote a book -- and got it published, apparently -- titled: Am I Hungry?

6. "People sometimes confuse thirst with hunger"
We smell a sequel bestseller!!! Look for Am I Hungry or Thirsty? at bookstores near you.

5. "Best Diet Tip No. 2: Think about what you can add to your diet, not what you should take away"
Now you're talking!! And now you're not: "Start by focusing on getting the recommended 5-9 servings of fruits and vegetables each day." Not what we had in mind when we read the headline.

4. "When you need something sweet, suck on a red-hot fireball candy for a long-lasting burst of sweetness with just a few calories"
Telling someone to suck until they get a burst? We're shocked.

3. This is not how we handle stress
"Best Diet Tip No. 14: Use non-food alternatives to cope with stress," it says. Fair enough. But here's the list of stress-reducing substitutes: "reading a few chapters in a novel, listening to music, writing in a journal, practicing meditative deep breathing, or looking at a photo album of loved ones." Or beer. Plenty of beer.

2. Dieting no help grammar skills
That's our takeaway from this site's list of holiday dieting tips, which includes:

-- "Do not put in a plate a lot of food"

-- "During the holidays is difficult to refuse from alcoholic cocktails and ice cream"

-- "Therefore, the use of these products is better to restrict or replace them. From cocktails on the basis of fizzy drinks should be abandoned, replacing them with drinks, made from natural fruit juices."

1. Dieting can make you reveal embarrassing information about yourself
From Lifehack: "As a huge Everybody Loves Raymond fan, every time I would sit down to watch an episode, I would remind myself that in the 1/2 hour that I was sitting and doing nothing, I could complete my daily workout."
