Conveniently located near a mall, a school and a church
Talk about your convenient locations -- a million-dollar pot-growing operation in Montgomery County was located near a) a school, b) The Woodlands Mall and c) a church.

So you had your students, your shopping moms and your bored-to-death guys being dragged to services all covered.

Montgomery County Sheriff's deputies made the bust yesterday. It's not clear if any weed was being sold from the two unfurnished houses, but it was perfectly clear weed was being grown. Lots of it.

The Montogmery County Sheriff's Office says deputies seized more than 200 plants and "a back pack containing several ounces of packaged marijuana for sale with suspected customer's names written on them and a scoped assault rifle."

We can only congratulate the businessmen on their choice of location: Both streets carry names that might belong to strains of killer weed. "North Wavy Oak" or "Red Berry"? Groovy, man.

Those weren't the names of what was being grown, though, according to the MCSO:"Both residences were used strictly as grow operations and were not lived in. Each plant is capable of producing an average of one pound of marijuana commonly referred to as 'Skunk' or 'Dro.' This type of marijuana has a stronger THC content and sells for around $5,500 per pound."

KPRC reports that the total haul was worth more than $1 million.

One person -- Dennis Nicholas Johnson, 28 -- has been taken into custody, the station reports, and another is sought.
