Will Terry Grier be sporting one of these?
In an amazing turnaround, Houston ISD has reinstated Sandra Walker as the assistant principal at Wheatley High School.

HISD spokesman Jason Spencer said a letter from HISD Chief High School Officer Aaron Spence went out to Wheatley parents today saying that Walker had been offered the opportunity to return "and she graciously accepted." Walker had been moved to a position at an alternative school.

Thursday night, Wheatley parents expressed their anger at the removal of Walker, saying that the district didn't understand their school or their community and had significantly disrupted the academics at the school by upsetting students in the middle of a school year.

Superintendent Terry Grier, who was ill, was not there to hear their complaints. He left the room before the beginning of the public comment section of the meeting.

In his letter, Spence said that Principal Wiley Johnson will still be leaving the school once his replacement is found.

But in Walker's case, "the Wheatley community has made a strong case for reconsideration."

He also rejected the comment by Gayle Fallon, president of the Houston Federation of Teachers, that Wheatley is "a zoo."
