Gary Ross: He's baaack
We laughed our asses off this morning when we saw a pic of Gary Ross, a.k.a. Teflon Man, on the arm of Carolyn Farb in the Houston Chronicle's society pages

A colorful character who winnowed his way into River Oaks society in 2004, Ross eventually ticked off some of his wealthy neighbors through his weird investment opportunities and half-completed home repairs. No one seemed to know where he came from or what he did for a living, but he drove the right kinds of cars and spent the right kind of money at the right restaurants, and that's apparently all one needs to ingratiate themselves with the upper crust.

We were told Ross escorted Farb to swanky functions, but Farb didn't deign to confirm this for us. But she apparently doesn't mind being photographed with Ross these days; the two of them were apparently guests at Legacy Community Health Services' Cabaret for a Cure gala, which featured none other than Chaka Khan. He looks pretty fit for a guy who, in September 2009, claimed to be at death's door with colon cancer.

We wonder what they talked about while Khan crooned "I'm Every Woman." Maybe that one time Fort Bend County Children's Protective Services said Ross beat the shit out of his 17-year-old stepdaughter, right before he disappeared to the Virgin Islands for a few years. Or maybe Ross expressed his dismay over why in the world, for the last 20 years, people in the Virgin Islands, Palm Beach and Houston have accused him of swindling them out of money and property. Or maybe how Ross recently sued a woman for her negligence in allowing him to fall down and get a boo-boo while he was on her property -- a woman who the lawsuit oddly neglects to mention is the woman he has presented to others as his loving wife.

We're just glad that Ross has overcome his not-so-terminal terminal cancer and is still able to mingle with the aristocracy. It gives sketchy dudes everywhere hope.
