Michael Brown, TV-Ad Doctor, Indicted for Felony Assault
The January 25 indictment follows Brown's August 2010 arrest for allegedly "twisting" his wife's "arm behind her back." Although assault is a Class A misdemeanor in Texas, Brown was convicted of aggravated assault (for beating a different wife -- man, those wives can sure get in the way, can't they?) in 2002, so the charge is increased to a felony. That carries a penalty of 2-10 years in prison. (The charge is increased even though Brown's conviction in that Montgomery County case was deferred).
The wife in this case, Rachel Brown, has previously accused Brown of forcing her to "do drugs" -- as well as trying to kill her and their children, who have been unwitting stage props in what are possibly the creepiest advertisements to be produced without the imprimatur of Joseph Goebbels.
Brown was released on $40,000 bond after the August arrest, but, according to the latest court filing, the indictment triggers another arrest. We'd call Brown for a comment, but for some reason he or his staff always threatens us when we do that. And the last thing we want is a broken bedpost upside the head, so.....
