Abraham Joseph: HPD Cop Indicted on Multiple Sexual-Assault Charges
A Houston cop has been indicted for two alleged sexual assaults, the DA's office has announced.

DA Patricia Lykos says the two incidents occurred earlier this month, but did not offer more details.
Joseph has been relieved of duty, she said.
"This man was a police officer who violated the public's trust and dishonored his badge," she said in an announcement. "He used his status as a public servant to sexually assault women. HPD Chief Charles McClellan has been extremely cooperative in this investigation, and we will continue to work together to ensure that the citizens of Houston and Harris County can trust and rely on the men and women in uniform."
The indictments were for first-degree felony offenses of aggravated sexual assault. Joseph faces up to life in prison for the offenses that are alleged to have occurred while he was in uniform.
Prosecutors are seeking a $500,000 bond.
DA spokeswoman Donna Hawkins tells Hair Balls further details on the alleged incidents can't be discussed as they consist of grand jury testimony, although the DA's office will be having a brief press availability later this afternoon.
