The body of a woman who was likely murdered and possibly raped was found near a northside bayou Sunday evening, police say.
Murdered, possibly raped, and abandoned
An autopsy will be performed, but HPD told reporters foul play is suspected.
A couple of kids discovered the body about 5:30 p.m. Sunday in the 11400 block of Imperial Valley. KTRK reports that the woman, in her 20s or 30s was naked from the waist down and her face was mutilated.
(Update: HPD has identified her as Gayla Ward Fulner, 44.)
