Texas Bowl Gets Baylor! And, Ummm, Illinois

• EAT SOME CROW BOY...WE WHIPPED BAYLOR'S ARSE!!

• Turns out all Illini fan comments before the game were exactly on point....complete domination by the Illini against a team that was clearly better at trashing talking than playing football.

• As a football program, Baylor is slightly better than Rice. Good job.

• As long as this game doesn't have officials from the Big 12 or from the state of Texas, Illinois will easily handle Baylor. To not go to a bowl for 16 years and then write this piece of garbage article is pretty hilarious. Baylor is actually a worse program than Illinois, and this writer has the gall to dis them for not having a marquee name? The most recognizable player to ever go to Baylor is Mike Singletary, and he's not even the best at his position in the history of the Bears, the team that he's most famous for. That would be Dick Butkus, who went where?.....Illinois. Understand one thing: Illini fans are not thrilled to be playing Baylor, because it amounts to playing an FCS team in most of our minds. There's a reason nobody wanted Baylor when the Big 12 looked like it would completely split.

• Baylor has a football program? The booster that has been helping out the basketball team must be keeping busy in the off-season.

• Illinois is better vs. the pass than Baylor is vs. the run. Illinois scored more and allowed less points than Baylor. Illinois had a much tougher schedule in and out of conference. Houston and Baylor should count themselves lucky that a team that averaged 53k in attendance this year wants to come down there to play against a team that averaged 32k. If "everything is bigger in Texas," they must not be counting butts in the seats at Baylor. Next time....ummmm do some home work before you publish this kind of biased, self-effacing....ummmm journalism.

• UMMM .... 2008 Rose Bowl? And you guys think we're excited about playing Baylor? Dude, you've got some issues. We should have beaten Ohio State. We beat Penn State by 20 something points at their place, 100,000 plus fans. At Michigan, in front of 110,000 fans, the two teams scored the most points in big 10 history, in a game CBS listed as the best college football game in the nation for 2010. We played at Wrigley field and pounded Northwestern into oblivion. I could go on, but beating Texas as your biggest game ... the same year Iowa State beat them in Austin .... if that is your best game, enjoy it. Personally, I think Ui fans wold have more interest in playing Iowa state, but who knows? If playing a good team from the Big 10 doesn't enthrall you, perhaps you could play against a third tier team from the Big East for more excitement. And good luck to your conference next year without Nebraska and Colorado. See you the 29th.

• I think if you talked to fans in Chicago, they're not exactly blown away by marginal Baylor, a team with limited regional appeal (Texas)and definitely lacking in marquee name recongition.
