When do the impeachment hearings start?
You live in the rational world, so you probably were unaware of the latest great scandal to engulf President Obama. (And no, we don't mean agreeing to tax cuts for millionaires/billionaires.)

Luckily for Houston, we have Texas Sparkle, the Houston Chronicle blogger who keeps her ear firmly tuned to the right-wing echo chamber, ready to pass on its every outrage.

The current one? A "horribly embarrassing" gaffe by Obama, who said in a speech in India weeks ago that the motto of the United States was "E Pluribus Unum," out of many, one.)

The members of the Congressional Prayer Caucus knew better, and they barely contained their outrage as they informed Obama that since 1956, the official motto of the U.S. is "In God We Trust."

Quoth Sparkle, a/k/a Kathleen McKinney:

I usually don't post on gaffes. Everyone has them. Joe Biden could make a career out of them, Bush had a ton, but this one? Horribly embarrassing...."E Pluribus Unum" is a motto on the Seal of the United States. Really. Whoever writes these speeches for Obama needs to be fired.

(McKinney also tweeted about Obama's press conference today, judging that he was "in over his head," so she knows whereof she speaks.)

And the commenters chimed in on the horrendous mistake:

-- "Why am I not surprised by this? What, did he think we're too busy or preoccupied to fact-check? Or did he think because of his 'supreme intelligence' we'd just take his word for it since he's used to the people around him hanging on his every word?

-- "cut him some slack; he's not from around here"

-- "Obama has made Bush's little mistakes look like nothing, this man has no sense of anything American. Does not salute medal of honor winners, does not show any respect when the star spangled banner is playing, has no idea of manners abroad or anywhere else and he is a model of manners compared to his wife. disgraceful, the whole thing."

-- "HAHAHAHAHAH SHO NUFF IVY LEAGUE GRAD YOU ARE JOKING"
