• It goes to show that substance abuse affects many, many people. I hope they both take this opportunity to address their problem. It may not feel like an "opportunity" but it is - no one was hurt - everyone made it home alive. It is embarassing and maybe feels like the worst thing in the world right now. It isn't. • Blizzard was fired this morning by District Attorney Kurt Sistrunk and his access to county computers and offices was cut-off by Court Administrator Bonnie Quiroga. A task force of State Troopers have been assigned to Galveston Island for the New Year weekend to beef up enforcement of DWI violations. The Police News
