Comment Of The Day: Transgenders, Child Molesters, What's The Difference?

• Harv's view is unfortunately not uncommon. Many people really do see no difference between transsexuals, intersexed people born with unusual genitalia, and serial killers. Though they treat the latter rather better than the former. If the Harvs of the world were a tiny, radical group of nutters, they could be ignored, as we ignore all the others who think that Blacks should be sent back to Africa, or Jews drink the blood of Christian children, or that the Queen of England is a lizardoid alien. But they're not a tiny minority. As evidenced by the fact that in nearly 40 states, it's legal to fire someone for being born Intersexed or Transsexual - including many states where Gays and Lesbians enjoy equal protection with Straights. As one Radical Lesbian said about the Trans Day of Remembrance, which memorialized 179 Trans people lynched last year : "They expect we’ll be shocked to see statistics about them being killed, and don’t realize, some of us wish they would ALL be dead."

• Let's bring back that TV show, "Thirty Days", where someone spends 30 days in a situation that makes them uncomfortable. We'll pair Harv up with a trans woman and, under the watchful gaze of the cameras, he'll spend 30 days as her roommate, accompanying her to her work, to visit her friends and family, any activist meetings she attends (if she's an activist.) The camera crew can ask Harv each day how uncomfortable he's feeling in the company of a sodomite child molesting murderer...
