We have some great commenters here on Hair Balls, and it's time we paid some damn attention to them.

So we'll be highlighting a Comment of the Day each morning, from the previous day's work. Maybe two comments, even.

This will all be determined by a highly rigorous scientific formula involving wit, clarity and whatever else we feel like at the moment.

We had an item yesterday featuring DynCorp's extensive response to allegations contained in official U.S. diplomatic cables, publicized by WikiLeaks, about providing underaged boys to Afghan warlords.

The company vehemently denied being involved in anything like that, although it said "a handful of individuals were found to have exercised extremely poor judgment and acted inappropriately," albeit not anywhere close to what was described in the cables.

We'll take them at their word that the cables exaggerated things, but one of our readers was unconvinced.

So nothing really bad happened, but they still reacted in the ass-covering manner of a company whose employees had, at least to some extent, facilitated child prostitution? Sweet diligence, someone give DynCorp the "Vaguely Sinister-Sounding Corporation of the Year" award.

I mean, what do you expect from the folks who helped clone the dinosaurs and build the facilities that led to the dinosaur disaster off of Costa Rica?

Oh shit, sorry. Wrong company.
