The jury in the money laundering trial of former U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay requested documents including phone, e-mail and financial records as they continued their deliberations today, one day after requesting clarification on the criminal charges against DeLay.

The trial, which began November 1 after five years of wrangling and pre-trial appeals, finally made its way to jury deliberations yesterday.

DeLay is potentially facing life in prison on money laundering and conspiracy to commit money laundering charges. DeLay is accused of channeling $190,000 in corporate money through his Texans for a Republican Majority PAC in 2002 to aid GOP candidates.
