Intoxication manslaughter charges have been filed against a driver who was driving south in the northbound lanes of Eldridge Parkway Sunday afternoon.
The suspect, Nicholas Jared Mireles, 24, was charged with causing the death of a 54-year-old woman whose identity was not released.
Police say Mireles was driving in the 3300 block of North Eldridge Parkway about 5:45 p.m. Sunday when he went to pass a car. His move took him into the opposing lanes, where he clipped on car and then smashed into another. The victim was in the second car.
"Blood results upon arriving at the hospital revealed Mireles was intoxicated at the time of the crash," HPD said.
