Houston GLBT Center Jumps On The Washington Avenue Bandwagon

The Houston GLBT Center is moving into new digs in the historic Sixth Ward.

Not so new, actually -- they're leasing space in the 1912 Dow School building, which has been renovated.

The move is "imminent," directors say, and they need some help.

"The Center will hire professionals to make the move, but seeks assistance with packing and other preparations," officials said.

The Center has been located in Montrose since its founding in 1996, but the new location will be convenient, they say:

The residential Old Sixth Ward neighborhood offers ample street parking, and the area is served by multiple METRO lines as well as the new Wave jitney and the REV Eco-Shuttle, which provide service along Washington.
Geeze. Everyone's jumping on the Washington Street bandwagon.
