Going To Texas-OU? Look Out For DPS Troopers On The Way

They're looking for you, Longhorn and Sooner fans
You can't say they didn't warn you: the Department of Public Safety has put out notice that they'll be lining the roads headed to Dallas for the Red River Shootout.

"Troopers will patrol IH-35, IH-45 and IH-20, and will be looking for drunk drivers, speeders, aggressive drivers and those not wearing safety belts," DPS spokesperson Tela Mange says. "The increased patrols will run from Friday morning through Sunday night."

Would anyone heading to the Texas-OU game engage in such destructive behavior as not wearing seat belts? We suppose all things are possible.

Longhorn fans, of course, will still be drowning their sorrows over the utter butt-kicking they got from UCLA, and quivering in fear at what type of beatdown they should be expecting from the Sooners. So some liquor or drugs to instill a false sense of confidence can be excused, even if it's dangerous.

DPS is also urging drivers to head to Dallas early to avoid traffic.
