Ching's Hat Trick Propels Dynamo To Victory
The Dynamo finally got back on a winning track Saturday night as they cooled down the Chicago Fire 4-3. The hero of the match was Brian Ching, who netted a hat-trick in the win for the Orange.
Ching first tallied in the 31st minute off of a corner kick. The Fire's young goalkeeper Sean Johnson jumped up to grab the ball, and landed on his back. When the ball came loose, Ching was there to put it in the net
The next Dynamo goal came off a set piece, when Richard Mulrooney lined up for a free kick. He tapped the ball out right, where a streaking Lovel Palmer was there to punch it in the goal.
After the Fire got the game back to within a goal, the Dynamo lined up for another corner kick in the 59th minute. The initial shot off of the corner hit the post and appeared to go in, however Ching was there with a bicycle kick shot to score his second of the match.
A Dynamo own goal 70th minute would make it 3-2, but the Fire were ready to equalize in the 80th minute. Then came the 85th minute, when Ching responded for the third time of the night with a header off a corner to seal the victory.
Ching's hat trick was his second in a Dynamo uniform. His first came in the franchise's inaugural game on April 2, 2006. All four Dynamo goals came off of set pieces, three corner kicks and a free kick. The Dynamo are back in action on Saturday, when they go on the road to face the Colorado Rapids.
