Wicked Witch Switch: New Elphaba at the Hobby Starting July 8

A mid-run switch

​Donna Vivino, whom Hair Balls spoke with just the other day, is taking a break from singing the role of Elphaba as part of the Wicked tour brought to Houston by Broadway Across America.

Instead, Jackie Burns will take over the role "indefinitely" starting July 8. Burns was most recently seen on Broadway in the revival of Hair.

Justin O'Neill, national press rep for the show, says Vivino's contract was up and after being on tour with Wicked for almost three years, she is going to take "a well-deserved break."
