Mark A. Williams, 28, of Lynwood, California, was sitting in the silver SUV with Danielle M. Coats, 23, of Seguin, about 10:25 a.m. Wednesday when the incident occurred, police said. Williams was shot several times and was pronounced dead at the scene; Coats was shot once and was taken to Ben Taub Hospital, where she is in critical condition.
The shooting happened in the 8600 block of Woodway Drive, which isn't exactly Murder Central.
