Cyrus: Win Free Preview Passes To A Movie Where John C. Reilly Does Not Play A Cop

​Cyrus is a quirky comedy starring Jonah Hill, Marisa Tomei and John C. Reilly.

Reilly plays a guy whose romance with Tomei gets complicated by her relationship with Hill, a son who's kind of challenging.

Reilly does not play a cop. Actually, he hasn't in a while, but starting out it was his stock role. Of his first 25 film roles, five of them were officers of the law. Regular-Joe, map-of-Ireland=on-their-face officers of the law.

The line-up:

1. Magnolia (1999) Officer Jim Kurring

Reilly plays an officer who dates a coke addict, an officer who loses his gun on duty, an officer who gets caught in a frog rainstorm. One of many subplots in a movie that doesn't really have a main plot.


2. Gangs of New York (2002) Happy Jack Mulraney

Happy Jack Mulraney is a cheerfully corrupt beat cop who mistakenly thinks he is more respected down in the Five Points than he really is. You can glimpse him now and then in the famous rumble scene above, fighting with Daniel Day Lewis' Bill the Butcher.

3. Boys (1996) Officer Kellogg Curry
A forgettable Winona Ryder vehicle in which Reilly plays Officer Kellogg Curry. No web footage of his scene(s?) seems to exist, which is probably just as well, since Roger Ebert said the film is "a low-rent, dumbed-down version of Before
Sunrise, with a rent-a-plot substituting for clever dialogue."

4. Shadows and Fog (1991) Cop at police station

A very dark movie by Woody Allen, and by that we don't mean it's a twisted, nihilistic examination of the human condition. We mean you can't make anything out half the time. In fact, it may very well be a twisted, nihilistic examination of the human condition, but you'll be squinting  too hard to find out. Reilly briefly shows up in a scene at a police station.

5. Dolores Claiborne (1995) Constable Frank Stamshaw

Reilly plays a constable who battles Kathy Bates' New England accent as he helps Christopher Plummer solve a murder case....OR DOES HE?
