• Remember all that Gov. money the Bush admin. gave out(by requested grants) to cities to use for roads? The gov. money Palins crew used for that 'alaska bridge to no where"? And many towns and cities got a lot of that money to build unneeded new roads, using that gov. money. Many contractors got those millions and many, unneeded roads, waste of money buildings, and 'bridges to no-where' were built. My own town of stafford,teax got couple million too and have unneeded roads that took years to build.

• Contractors use this trick all the time. If they repair the road quickly, they have less leverage over the city on newer contracts, and don't get paid much. By having many "pending" contracts, they can bully the city into giving more contracts. This has the downside that if the contractor goes out of business, there are half-finished projects everywhere that will never get finished.

• My town is always under construction too. What boggles my mind is that they'd rather have a street impaired for seven goddamn MONTHS rather than two days of work (which is what is accomplished in the seven months - roughly 48 hours of actual labor) I mean seriously, you've got the cost of detouring traffic for TWO DAYS, or SEVEN MONTHS. Now throw in SEVEN MONTHS of city-worker wages (that guy who holds the slow/stop sign? He makes more than you do), and how is it possibly reasonable to not give them two nights of overtime pay to get it done and out of the way? I can't remember how many times I've gone past ripped up streets that didn't even have anybody working on it - for days on end. Just holes, pylons, tape, and NO WORKERS AT ALL. Why? What does this accomplish?

• There is nothing that amuses me more than really trashy people who decide they are just so upset about something, they have to spray paint their own sign. Like STATE FARM WON'T COVER HAIL DAMAGE!!!!! etc. I'm always like, O RLY? I CARE A LOT.

• I live in the neighborhood, too, and I agree with the basic sentiment. But it's not the workers' fault. It's the contractor who hired one crew to tear up four streets at once. When they first started work on Castle, the ripped up half the pavement...then did nothing for two weeks. It wasn't raining, either. A few weeks late on the estimate for the first half of the road; we'll see about the second half. And, speaking for Castle, I'm not sure why we needed new roads in the first place. I guess they'll be smoother now, but who cares?

• I live in this neighborhood and totally disagree with this jerkface. It's embarassing. The workers have done a great job. The inconvenience is a small price to pay for new roads. I am thankful.

• haha It looks like they originally left off the word 'street' and had to come back and fix it. Also got alittle remorseful and wrote "thanks".

• Haha! I like how the black paint kinda crapped out when they got to the word street, then the can appears to have been unclogged and started working again. I love homegrown graffiti. Hopefully this tagger will continue their efforts and improve their skillz.
