Love hurts on the southwest side of town

​A love triangle exploded into gunshots early this morning on the southwest side, resulting in one death and two injuries, police say.

An unidentified man was shot and killed in the 6900 block of River Bluff about 1 a.m. Two other unidentified people -- a man and a woman -- were taken to Ben Taub.

Police speculate that the incident was triggered by a love triangle.

KRIV reported that "a husband followed his wife suspecting she was cheating on him. When she pulled up to the home on River Bluff, police say the husband got out of his car and fired several shots. The alleged boyfriend was shot and died at the scene."

The station said the shooter "somehow" was shot in the chest and was in serious condition. The woman was injured only slightly, the report said.
