Twilight Eclipse: Five Questions From A Newbie

• The Twilight movies are awesome and the books are ever more charming and addictive. I cannot wait until the next movies are out so that us fans can emerss ourselves with more of this incredible tale of true love.

• The movie yet again left me with a question, whether the script was poorly written, or the directing, or it was simply the lack of good performances. Ecliplse was a very slow movie for me. The dialogues were extremely predictable. Yet again, they were trying to create the intensity of the triangle between Bella, Edward and Jacob, but it didn't feel enough. Though I understand that it is supposed to be a teen romance, I still don't understand why it should this one-layered. Bella, who seems to be unable to decide whom she prefers to kiss Jacob or Edward; her actions were not convincing at all. Another thing that surprises me is the make-up. It made all the actors look very fake including humans. The vampires are supposed to be living among people and pass as one of them. But the light brown eye lenses that they use would be impossible not to notice. You can tell that they are not humans. Overall, another poor adaptation of Twilight series.

• @Kyle - I completely disagree. It's fine to hate the premise - not everyone likes the same subject matter when it comes to books, but how do you compare this to a fifth grade essay? The words she used? The grammar? What exactly? Your statement comes off like someone who just doesn't like the series, which is fine - to each his own.

• Can I just say that not only is this whole thing crazy, it's ruined the life of every guy named Edward forever. Like my brother. Though he is tall and has the brown eyes, that's where the resembalance stops, but all the girls in our school chase after him! His last girlfriend even admitted that she was only dating him cause he had the same name as that stupid vampire. Wtf, really? I am afraid for our generation. John Carpenter, if you're out there, please save us.

• Well-written? Surely you jest. The writing is atrocious. <i>Edward in the sunlight was shocking. I couldn�t get used to it, though I�d been staring at him all afternoon. His skin, white despite the faint flush from yesterday�s hunting trip, literally sparkled, like thousands of tiny diamonds were embedded in the surface. He lay perfectly still in the grass, his shirt open over his sculpted, incandescent chest, his scintillating arms bare. His glistening, pale lavender lids were shut, though of course he didn�t sleep. • i read the books because i wanted to see if they were actually well written, a la harry potter. hate to say it but these books are not well written. they're pretty ridiculous, actually.

• It's just an extension of Bush-era, abstinence-only, sex-ed cirriculum for teens.

• Amusing article, I think the questions were very funny. To be serious for a moment though - I know that lots of folks have reached "mania" levels over this series, but there are plenty of us out here that enjoyed the series for what it was - a well-written fantasy epic. The films so far have followed the story line fairly closely, so no complaints there either. Put a brown wrapper over it so no one will ridicule you for reading it(or better yet, get a Kindle), but at least try out the first one. You'll be surprised to find that it's actually an interesting fantasy story.
