Stolen, Huge Samurai Sculpture May Be In Houston; Where To Look?

Not exactly shoplifted
Anyone seen a $60,000 samurai sculpture? It's over 10 feet tall -- it'd kind of be hard to miss.

Authorities believe it's somewhere in Houston, after being stolen in March from Heirloom Gardens in College Station.

The "sculpture was reported missing after a public auction was held" at the site, officials say, which is quite a feat since it takes a forklift to move the 1,500-pound artwork.

Sculptor Jim Prevost had two items on display at the Gardens -- the other was a seven-foot African mask.

He only got the mask back.

Police aren't saying why they think the samurai scuplture may have been moved to Houston, but they are urging anyone who's seen it to call in to Crime Stoppers.

We guess you should make sure you're talking about the right 10-foot sculpture of a samurai brandishing a sword, though -- you wouldn't want to call in with just any 10-foot sculpture of a samurai doing it.

There's a $5,000 reward for tips that lead to an arrest.

Where we would look, were we so inclined:

Really tacky, huge McMansions

McMansions that have been paid for in cash. Ones with big atriums. And at least two Scarface posters on display somewhere.

Secret Ninja training camps
We wouldn't look too close, though. Those guys are wicked fast.

Samurais-R-Us stores
It just seems like they'd be worth checking out. Again, watch for security.

Other than that, you're on your own.
