Killed while sweeping
All Maria Hernandez wanted was to keep the front of her home on Crosstimbers clean. Instead she ended up dead.

Hernandez, 57, 59, was slammed by a hit-and-run driver in the 400 block of Crosstimbers a little before 9 a.m. Sunday morning, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Witnesses described a gray vehicle, but could not get a license plate. The Houston Chronicle reported that the car was a Nissan or Honda.

Anyone with more information on the accident is asked to call the HPD Accident Division at (713)-247-4072.
