Nightmare for a daughter

​A woman was shot to death in front of her daughter by her estranged husband, who then turned the gun on himself in a murder-suicide.

Gloria Gonzales, 40 was sitting behind the wheel of her car in a parking lot on the north side of town, talking with her estranged husband who was outside the car, police said. Her daughter, no age given, was also in the car.

The husband, William Lee Roe, 40, shot Gonzales several times in the chest and then turned the gun on himself, shooting himself in the head, police said. Gonzales died at the scene and Lee was taken to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where he died.

The daughter was not injured, at least physically.

The incident occurred in the 900 block of Adele about 6:30 p.m. yesterday.
