Mail Carrier Stole Netflix DVDs, Leaving Spring Without A Chance To Appreciate Paul Blart, Mall Cop

​If you live in Spring and are wondering whatever happened to your promised Netflix delivery of Jennifer Aniston's The Bounty Hunter, there may be an answer. (And you're probably just as well off not seeing the thing anyway.)

Rudolph Luna Jr., 38, of Houston pleaded guilty today to stealing a ton of Netflix movies from his postal route, plus nabbing a few more from other carriers.

Netflix had advised authorities in 2008 that 114 movies had not been delivered in the Spring-area zip code of 77373.

For several months thereafter, in late 2008 and early 2009, postal inspectors began to monitor Luna. Luna came to the attention of the inspectors after agents saw Luna take several Netflix movies from the delivery bins of other routes and place them into his delivery bin.

A USPS inspector later prepared multiple Netflix movies to be collected and returned along Luna's route. After watching Luna move several movies into his personal backpack, inspectors detained Luna and found one of the prepared Netflix in his backpack.

What movie was he busted on? We don't know. But we'd hate to think of going to federal court of Norbit.

Luna, who confessed to authorities when they arrested him, has been out on bond since his arrest and he'll remain out until he gets his sentence from U.S. District Judge Vanessa Gilmore. A conviction for theft of a mail matter carries a maximum punishment of five years imprisonment and a $250,000 fine.
