How not to rob a pizza place

​The list of how NOT to rob a business is long, but Ahmad Hall-Chan of Missouri City managed to add a few items to it.

Hall-Chan, 29, had been working at Russo's Pizza; he went there Friday morning to dispute his last paycheck.

The manager told him he had to call the corporate office; when she went to get that number, Fort Bend Now reports, "Hall-Chand grabbed a money bag ready for deposit and ran out of the store."

Hmmm. He was likely banking on the probability that his former manager a) wouldn't recognize him, and b) wouldn't have his address, phone number, Social freakin' Security Number, vehicle info on file, along with a folder titled "Emergency Contacts for Ahmad Hall-Chan, if you ever need to reach him or have police find him."

Hall-Chan's half-assery wasn't done yet, though.

He ran out to the parking lot to his car -- the car that his manager no doubt had the make, model and license plate for -- and, with employees from the pizza place running after him, "his key broke off in the driver's side door."

So then he started running again and, as Fort Bend Now once again so eloquently puts it: "According to police, Hall-Chand finally got tired and gave up, and the bank bag was recovered."

Apparently the whole idea of dropping the bag and running without it didn't occur to him. Not that it would have mattered, since tracking him down couldn't have been easier if he'd had a GPD chip implanted by Missouri City police.

He was charged with second-degree felony robbery.
