His first Dynamo goal
The Houston Dynamo beat the crap out of the Kansas City Wizards on Saturday night over at Robertson Stadium. The 3-0 final doesn't do justice to the Dynamo's game that night. They pushed the tempo of the game, and eventually the Wizards broke down and accepted their fate.

Now, it probably helped that the Dynamo had a one-man advantage for 60 minutes of the game. Davy Arnaud of the Wizards went studs-up into Pat Onstad, who had control of the ball right before he got stomped.

The Wizards started the game strong, even had a few good chances early on to get that first goal. Former Dynamo Kei Kamara had a great opportunity to give KC the lead, and for some payback. But much like what we saw in his time here, he yanked his shot wide right.

Then in the 24th minute, Dominic Oduro made a run up the middle after shaking off a couple of defenders. He found a trailing Luis Angel Landin who chipped the ball onto goal to make it 1-0.

After Arnaud's suspension, the Dynamo were free to push the tempo for the game -- and they did. The second half was all Dynamo.

The second goal came courtesy of Brian Mullan in the 52nd minute. Landin made a swifty pass to a wide-open Mullan, who felt obliged to score the next goal. Then came goal number three, by rookie Sammy Appiah in the 88th minute. Oduro, who by the way hustled his ass off in the game, curled a ball to Appiah to score the last goal.

There was some luck to the goal. Appiah kicked the ball just past the outstretched arms of the KC goalie, and off the sidebar.

This lineup that head coach Dominic Kinnear used had to be the most efficient yet, especially with Brad Davis in as central midfielder and Oduro's speed baffling the Wizards. Not that they didn't expect it, but more so that they didn't expect the rest of the Dynamo team to chase down Oduro's plays.

The Dynamo next play on Wednesday night against state rival, FC Dallas. The Dynamo will be looking to avenge the tie earlier in the season against the Hoops.
