Nothing like a little Chivas to chase away the blues
Nothing cures a bad loss for the Houston Dynamo like a meeting with Chivas USA. Saturday the Dynamo scored two early goals to beat the Goats 2-0 at the Home Depot Center in SoCal.

In the fourth minute of the match, Brad Davis connected with a sliding lob to put the ball in the back of the net. Four minutes later, Davis took a corner kick that found a wide open Adrian Serioux, who headed home a power goal.

Those two goals would be all the Dynamo would need to get their first road win of the season. Good too, because their offense was non-existent after those first eight minutes. Luis Angel Landin came in as a second-half sub -- replacing Dominic Oduro -- but didn't really get involved in the match. Brian Ching, who's coming off injury, warmed up in the second half but didn't get his number called.

With the win, the Dynamo are now in sole possession of second place in the Western Conference, behind the undefeated LA Galaxy. It's been 11 games since the Dynamo last lost to Chivas USA, and the Dynamo have now taken the season series between the two clubs with two shut-out victories. If anyone has the Goats' number, it would be the Orange. Who's your daddy, Chivas?

If you can't get Liverpool, settle for Man U
Sueno MLS winner a Houstonian
The next day at the Home Depot Center, MLS and Univision announced that a Houstonian was the winner of this year's Sueno MLS competition. Fourteen-year-old Nelson Castro, a freshman at Eastwood Academy, was given the news during the taping of Republica Deportiva, a popular sports show on Univision.

Sueno MLS
is an American Idol-like-competition where players from three cities are chosen to try to win a developmental  contract by their respective clubs. Chicago and Los Angeles teamed up with Houston to bring Sueno MLS back for another season.

Man U tickets selling like hotcakes

Tickets for Manchester United's first visit to Houston are a hot commodity, even though they aren't on sale. Last week, Dynamo and Houston Texans season ticket holders were given the opportunity to buy tickets for the Red Devils' first trip to H-town.

Man U is coming to Houston Wednesday, July 28 to take on the MLS All-Stars. Since no one is interested in seeing an East vs West all-star game format like in the other sports, the MLS All-Stars team up to face a top level European club every year. The game will be played at Reliant Stadium, which hoping to land possible World Cup game in 2018 or 2022.

A pre-sale for tickets is planned for people who buy mini-plans for the Dynamo. Tickets for the general public go on sale on towards the end of the month. For more information about the Dynamo, please visit www.houstondynamo.com.
