About 60 demonstrators were outside Minute Maid Park last night protesting the Arizona Diamondbacks in response to the state's newly passed SB 1070 anti-immigrant law.

As baseball fans made their way into the stadium, several stopped to find out exactly what was going on and were surprised when they found out.

"I didn't realize the protest was going on. Had I known, I would not have bought tickets. I support immigration reform and I'm against the new Arizona law, but I'm going to the game to support our Astros tonight," Martha Rodriguez said.

The protest had everyone talking about the immigration issue, though. There were counter-protesters (about 20) that showed up as well.

What was unusual about this protest is that normally the police make sure to keep the opposing groups separated, but not yesterday. Although there were plenty of cops around, they allowed both groups to protest on the same sidewalk right next to each other.

At least it was peaceful.
