At a little before 11 p.m. on Thursday, two men were sitting in a car in southwest Houston. What they were doing there or what they were discussing is unknown, but they were about to be rudely interrupted.

Out of the darkness of night, a pair of men with guns crept up to the car, which was parked along the 11400 block of Carvel, police say. Then they started shooting.

Both guys in the car were shot many times and died on the spot. One was 24-years-old, the other 30. Their names have not been released.

Police say the gunmen fled in the victims' car, which was later found. So far, though, the shooters have not turned up. Investigators say robbery was the likely motive.

Anyone with information about this case can call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
