• Unfortunately, governmental units don't have a sense of humor and are quick to use their power if they feel threatened. Something similar happened to someone I know, and he was punished in order to make an example out of what his roommate did. I think that even though this was a parody of a joke on Sarah Palin, others get real nervous with things that they cannot understand very well, such as a redirect page. They basically wanted to mess with her right back. I think that this was an appropriate use of media because when something is not right, it needs to be brought to people's attention. The question this article brought up for me was, how do you control your identity with a search engine that you do not want to be listed on? (Which I think everyone at some point will not want to be associated with a certain link, including Sarah Palin's bullies). How seriously is the internet taken and where are the internet rules? Anytime something is free, there are usually no rules to go along with this, but as soon as something costs money, we lose the freedoms we once had....btw, Shoe is an outstanding person and I'm sorry that she has had to deal with this affecting her career, but am also glad to know that all ended well.

• Wow, you're an idiot. 1. I did not contact the Houston Press, they contacted me. I had posted about it privately on my facebook page (I happen to be friends with people who work there.) 2. I did not violate any laws. I did not use any copyrighted material. If you had read the article and knew anything about how the internet works, you would know that it was just a REDIRECT. As in, you went to a web page, and then it sent you directly to the website of the governor of Alaska who was Sarah Palin at the time. This happens all the time on the internet, like when a page is not found or you are logging in somewhere, sometimes it redirects you to another site. 3. The first time I didn't contact the Houston Press either. 4. You make way too many assumptions and are wrong on all of it.

• Grammatical errors aside, why would you contact the press complaining that your previous contact with the press has reflected badly on your reputation? Let me get this straight: you used a piece of copyrighted material on your personal website and when you were told to remove it, you contacted the Houston Press to complain? Now, years later, when you are trying to find a job, you are complaining that the press you sought out is causing you to lose job opportunities? So what are you doing about it now? Seeking more press coverage about it? You complain about being googled while you are creating more googles? So if I hired you, would you contact the Houston Press if you get in trouble for violating policy? Would you post it on your crackho website? Take responsibility for your actions. I wouldn't hire you either.

• Hey guys, i didn't even know I was being "interviewed". I was also in the middle of a lot of things and at work. I am employed NOW. I'm sorry that I write quickly and don't capitalize, etc, etc. If I had known my words would have been published word for word, you would be reading something else. But I suppose you all feel better for judging me!

• I think it is rediculous to bash Shu regarding her grammar skills. You have no idea in what context this was relayed to the Houston Press. So why not focus on what the article was actually about, which is information regarding one's personal self displayed on an internet search engine. Information, that could potentially harm someone and/or their employment, relationships, or general reputation. Which is what has happened to this very INTELLIGENT, HARDWORKING person. If only the people grammar bashing had half the sense and intelligence she does, they may be able to focus on the problem at hand rather than creating drama.
