Randy Quaid, Wife Jailed In California

Quaid, not flashing his Golden Globe this time

​Randy Quaid, one-half of the Pride of Bellaire Quaid Brothers, is in a California jail, People magazine is reporting.

A judge there got fed up with the actor and his wife missing court dates in connection with non-payment of a $10,000 hotel bill. The two were arrested in Marfa last year, resulting in Quaid's classic mugshot shown here, but were released.

"They came to court this morning hoping that Judge [Frank] Ochoa would forgive them for not showing up a couple weeks ago, but the judge said they showed disrespect by prior failures to appear and by flashing Randy's Golden Globe award in court the last time around," Santa Barbara District Attorney Arnie Tolks said.

Hey, if you got it, flaunt it. The Quaids have had a tempestuous few years. They were banned for life by the the Actors' Equity Union in regards to their behavior during a flop of a musical called Lone Star Love.

In his defense, Quaid said he was merely an awesome actor in the adaptation of a Shakespeare play.

"I am guilty of only one thing: Giving a performance that elicited a response so deeply felt by the actors and producers with little experience of my creative process that they actually think I am Falstaff," he said, modestly.

Bail in California was set at $100,000, and the pairs' next court appearance is set for Wednesday.
