Dan Pastorini Fender-Benders His Way Into A DWI

Pastorini, looking like he did after they called the Renfro pass incomplete in the title game

​Houston Oiler quarterback Dan Pastorini, the man who led the team to within a blown call of the Super Bowl, was arrested this morning on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

Pastorini was driving a Mercedes in Bryan just before midnight Sunday when he rear-ended a Toyota at a stop light. (Is there any image more romantic than "driving a Mercedes in Bryan"?)

According to the Bryan-College Station Eagle:

A Mercedes was traveling south in the inside lane when it hit the back of a Toyota Tacoma that was in front of it, pushing the Toyota to the left and spinning it completely around and into oncoming traffic, [Bryan PD officer Jason] James said.

The Toyota struck the left side of a northbound Ford Explorer, he said.

Pastorini was the only one hurt, and he suffered minor injuries.

Pastorini is famous for living in the fast lane -- marrying a Playmate, racing dragsters and speedboats. (He was involved in a fatality in a speedboat race.)

The Houston Press was among a number of local media outlets who were e-blasted with Pastorini's resume a few months ago. We checked with him at the time, and he said it looked like someone had gotten access to it and was sending it around without his permission.

The resume showed he was working in sales for a company that helped law-enforcement agencies gather and store data.
