Washington Avenue is Houston's ne

​west destination for young people and people trying to pass as young; hip people and those trying to remain hip; well-to-do and those who nurse a beer through the night.

It's also become a place where residents complain about drunks pissing in their yards at 2 a.m., where visitors find their cars towed with little in the way of warning; and where the douchebag factor can be off the charts in some establishments.

Three Houston Press writers took a look at the Washington Avenue phenomenon in this week's cover story, "Wild on Washington."
