Unidentified Man, Bayou Body Count No. 42

Sometimes it seems like there are so many murders in Houston that no one can keep up. And as the number of killings this year continues to climb, the information gets more and more scant.

Case in point:

On Sunday night, police say, an unknown number of men kicked down the door to a home along the 7400 block of Breezeway and shot a 45-year-old man who was lying in bed.

That's it.

The cops aren't saying why they think the man was shot, if they thought it was random, or even if they simply haven't figured out the answers to these questions yet. Police do say, however, that the county medical examiner has to verify the dead man's name before investigators will tell us who he is.

So far, though, he's just another anonymous body, as far as the police say.

Anyone with information about this case can call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
