DeBakey High Racks Up Another Honor

Honors are nothing unusual for the Houston school district's DeBakey High School. And frankly, after you've been named Best High School after an extensive study by the Houston Press, everything else is a bit of an anti-climax.

But we guess the folks there will still accept the latest good news, from the College Board.

DeBakey is  one of just three Texas schools named as "leading the nation in helping African American and/or Latino students to succeed on AP Exams," by the College Board, in an announcement this morning.

Besides DeBakey, the Texas schools include the School of Science and Engineering at Yvonne A. Ewell Townview Magnet Center in Dallas and Valley View High in Pharr.

A total of only 15 schools nationwide earned the honor.
