Jose Azua, 16, Bayou Body Count No. 27

Sixteen-year-old Jose Azua was simply slinging tacos at an outdoor stand Wednesday night in north Harris County when he came face to face with a guy holding a gun.

It wasn't long until the Harris County Sheriff's Office got a call about a shooting.

When deputies arrived, they found Azua had been shot to death. His body was still inside the taco stand, located on the 11400 block of Eastex Freeway.

Azua's mother told detectives that her son worked there part-time and that she stopped by the stand at around 9 p.m. to check on him. She was the one, authorities say, who first found Azua's body.

Investigators say robbery seems to be the motive but do not have any suspects.

I just saw on "The First 48" that Jose's murderer was in fact killed in a police shoot-out after he murdered 2 MORE people after Jose. I'm so glad to hear that a despicable piece of shit died so violently. I hope the worthless prick that murdered a young man before his prime died painfully. I am saddened to hear about Jose, but I find solace knowing his murderer was fired upon by the police, and probably took a bullet to his own little criminal brain, and died in a pool of his own blood and feces.
I saw the story of Jose's sad end on TV and I said many prayers for him. Anyone who ever had love in their heart has love for Jose and his short life and the hope and belief that he would have achieved his goals.
well i didnt know jose but my younger brother marcos did and my sis n law abisag but by his smile in all the p ictures i could see he was a very happy person and im so happy to say that they catched his killer and they killed him cuz he deserved that or more..so my prayers r with his family and friends...he will be missed! and justice has been made but he didnt deserve to die... !

I texted him every night and talked to him when he wasn't busy or working (which was not often at all)...the comment on his myspace that says "I THINK I FOUND HER" he's talking about me. we liked each other and i never gave him the chance....cause i was scared of commitment :( i regret it...but i'll never regret meeting him or EVER TALING TO HIM FOR THE FIRST TIME! he was so hard working so determined to help his mom and his family. Jose Azua is my little brother. He had a lot to life for. He never did nothing to hurt nobody. He had so many things going for him. But a lowlife coward took him from us. I know that his under gods hand and his love will live with us. I hope that the cowards who did this know that god is all knowing and when the day comes justice will be served. Nothing will make me more then happy to know that who ever took such a grate and loving brother from my family gets what the deserve. I tank everybody who has bean their for us and my brother.
Jose was the sweetest guy I have ever known he shouldn't have died like that. He used to love chocolate and he always made me laugh.He used to say he was going to be a chef. I wrote the last comment I'm just posting this up so that his family will know that I did care alot about him and that I hope they are okay and that I'm here for them.
Jose Azua was my step-cousin I really just think of him like a real cousin. He was a great guy he was nice to everyone he knew, I used to talk to him alot and I will miss his advise about school I will miss his laughter and smiles I just hope he is better where he is, May he REST IN PEACE. AND know that you'll always be in my heart.
RIP Jose Azua, I never knew you or your family but I think its awful your life was taken so young over an apparent robbery of a taco stand!? If that was the case, I hope the heartless monster or monsters are caught soon! My prayers and thoughts are with the family and poor mother who discovered her baby dead.
I DIDNT KNOW HIM THAT WELL BUT THE TIMES THAT I SPOKE TO HIM HE WAS SO SWEET. HE WORK WITH MY GRANDSON AND SOME TIMES I WOULD GIVE HIM A RIDE HOME . JOSE WAS VERY POLITE. Jose Azua was such a great kid who always had a big smile on his face.He was the type a kid who liked to cheer people up when they weren't happy.He loved school and loved to read books.He was a the kid who was known as a family man.He worked part-time at the taco stand and at whataburger to help his mom out.The last conversasion i had with him was about college i was telling him he was going to love it. He wanted to go to college for a scientist he loved science and physics. He always said how he was going to achieve all his goals to get his family out of the ghetto.He didn't reach that point but may he rest in peace. He's in a better place now and he will always be in our hearts and never be forgotten.
