HRD Spokeswoman Tiffany Hamilton, aka Grrrl Friday, tells us "the league is looking for women 18 years or older who have a little attitude and can demonstrate solid basic skating ability with the potential to grow. Skaters can make up for a lack of derby experience by demonstrating confidence and a willingness to follow direction and try new things."
Bring comfortable athletic clothing, quad skates (no inlines), pads for knees/wrists/elbows, a mouth guard, and helmet. A limited amount of equipment is available to rent/borrow, but you must contact the league ahead of time at recruitment@houstonrollerderby.com.
HRD's bad-ass skaters just competed in national championships -- this is an exciting league with lots of spirit and sass. So start 2010 right by getting your inner-skate-grrrl on.
