The Game is close to beginning -- once you've had Flea and Josh Groban collaborate, things can only go up. We will say the Dr Pepper BCS trophy is likely the cheesiest-looking major trophy in sports. WIth the DP logo slapped prominently on it, the thing looks like a stand-up display at a Diamond Shamrock.
The Tavern at Waugh is packed with Horn fans, our man on the scene reports. It was pretty quiet 20 minutes before the kick, but things are now heating up. Only one guy is walking around with a box of Tide detergent.
Sadly, we have not yet seen a stoned Matthew McConnaughey on the sidelines. It's a UT Rose Bowl tradition, so we're keeping our eyes peeled. In honor of Matt, our very red eyes.
"Our journey begins," says Brent Musberger says as the kick-off climbs into the air.
