UPDATE: Several more arts events have been canceled or postponed. Among the snow's victims are:
- Be the Ball, benefiting Fresh Arts and Glasstire has been postponed. No new plans have
- The Houston Zoo, which is closed for the rest of today and will reopen tomorrow as usual.

- The screening of Guest of Cindy Sherman at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston has been canceled (one more snub to filmmaker Paul H-O, whose documentary chronicles his life as the much ignored partner of a big name artist).
- The Forgotten Gateway: Coming to America through Galveston Island Cultural Speaker Series presentation with Jan and Rob Faubion at Moody Gardens has been canceled. The mother-son team was going to discuss their family's Swedish heritage. The series will continue with its next planned event.
- The First Friday reading with Andre de Korvin at Inprint House has been canceled. The series continues January 8 with writer Larry Fontenot.
- The grand opening of the J.S. Bracewell Neighborhood Library. No new plans for the opening have been announced.
The brave souls who are refusing to change their plans just because a few snow flakes are falling include:
- The Houston Ballet's Jubilee of Dance 40th Anniversary Celebration honoring Barbara Bears, Dickens on the Strand, Discovery Green's Ice Skating, and ironically, the Houston Museum of Natural Science's Snow Flurry.
