The first of what is expected to be many performance cancellations by arts organizations this weekend has just come in: Dancepatheatre has canceled both the December 4 regular performance and December 6 rain-date performance of Letters You Wrote. A joint project between Dancepatheatre and the Foundation for Modern Music, the show had been scheduled to be at The Artery's outdoor garden theater, which the weather newscasters are telling us will be under a blanket of snow/sleet/slushy rain all weekend.

Dancepatheatre Artistic Director Sara Draper says PayPal ticket purchase made through the group's web site will be refunded. Visit www.dancepath.com for more information.

Letters You Wrote will be rescheduled sometime in early 2010.

  • The Forgotten Gateway: Coming to America through Galveston Island Cultural Speaker Series presentation with Jan and Rob Faubion at Moody Gardens has been canceled. The mother-son team was going to discuss their family's Swedish heritage.  The series will continue with its next planned event.
