Missouri City Goes Back To The Non-Computer Age

The modern computer age? Not in Missouri City.

The world has tumbled to a halt in the suburb -- computers and phone lines have crashed at both City Hall and the police department.

"It's some kind of virus," police captain John Bailey tells Hair Balls.

911 calls can still come in, because the dispatch system is on a separate landline. You can call in to the main line at the police department, say, but you won't be able to get yourself transferred to the person you want to talk to.

Computers are down too, and since just about everything is stored electronically these days, the PD is flying blind for now.
Bailey says there's no estimate as to when things will get fixed, which sounds about right when dealing with IT and phone people.

Until then, break out the pencils and pads, people.
