Longtime Houston ISD trustee Dianne Johnson has decided not to run for re-election, according to an article posted in the Bellaire Examiner and its three sister papers.

A majority of the board is up for election -- so far Board President Lawrence Marshall and trustee Greg Meyers have indicated they will probably run again.

Still up in the air are Natasha Kamrani and Harvin Moore.

Anyhow, check out the Examiner story.

In it, Johnson says simply two terms was enough.

"If eight years is enough for the president of the United States, it ought to be enough for a board member," she told The Examiner Thursday. "It's time to move on," said Johnson, who was first elected to her seat in 2001. "It's good for other people to have that opportunity."
